Discover the thinking
The name is the methodology

Most agency names mean nothing.
Ours means everything we do.

Tact and Theory are not random words. They are the two disciplines that define how we work—and why the work performs.

01
The human layer

Tact

The right message at the right moment.

Tact is the ability to read the room—to know what resonates, what persuades and what moves people to act. It transforms information into communication, data into story, and insight into language that actually lands.

  • Observation
  • Communication
  • Action

The intelligence layer

Theory

The system that makes tact repeatable.

Theory is the framework beneath instinct: behavioural science, consumer research, competitive analysis and pattern recognition. It makes a recommendation defensible rather than directional.

  • Research
  • Reasoning
  • Direction

Creative shops often have tact without rigour. Consultancies often have theory without execution. We hold both in equal measure.

The Tact & Theory difference

We don’t start with channels. We start with understanding.

The difference is not another list of services. It is the thinking that comes before every recommendation, investment and execution.

The philosophy

Where data meets
storytelling.

Tact without theory is improvisation.
Theory without tact is academic.

The two are not in tension. They are the same process viewed from different ends. You cannot tell a brand story worth hearing without understanding who is listening—and why they decide.

Intelligence meets instinct.
01

Meaning before volume.

Brands are built on relevance, not noise.

02

Strategy defines the path.

Every decision connects to a commercial reason.

03

Execution honours the vision.

Strategy becomes valuable only when it changes the work.

04

Excellence is deliberate mastery.

Measured, refined and made repeatable.

Who we are

A brand intelligence consultancy built for ambitious brands.

Tact & Theory was created from a simple, stubborn observation: businesses have never had more information available to them, yet strategic clarity has never been harder to find.

We exist as the brand intelligence function most organisations never build internally—sitting between the data your teams generate and the decisions your leadership team needs to make with confidence.

Not as a traditional consultancy with a methodology to sell. As a strategic partner embedded in how you think, what you build and where you choose to compete.

Her approach is grounded in behavioural science and consumer psychology. She focuses on the question most brand work skips: not merely how to reach people, but why they make the decisions they do.

“Tact is the name for what she does in a room. Theory is the name for how she prepares for it.”
